1. Post Trauma Soft tissue repair, for torn ligaments and tendons.2. Joint replacement (knee, shoulder, hip ) , in which a damaged joint is replaced with a prosthesis.3. Revision joint surgery, in which a preexistent implant is changed with a new one.4. Bone fracture repair with internal fixation, performed when broken pieces of bone are repositioned using metal plates, screws or pins.5. Debridement, during which damaged soft tissues or bones are removed.6. Fusion of bones, in which bones are fused with grafts.7. Pain management

There are several mechanical methods and physical agents therapists use to relieve pain, such as applying ice/heat packs, ultrasound, and electrical muscle stimulation. In addition to exercise, some manual therapy techniques are massage and mobilization.
Pain is also relieved through active techniques and exercise therapy - exercises that stretch the sore muscles and increase their flexibility.
